Today we are at Hartland Quay. The coastline in this area is rough and the rocks eat ships that get too close. If we are lucky we might find a shipwreck.
About 500m south from Hartland Quay we find our first waterfall.
We take a closer look.
We have a look around the beach and find our first small bit of a shipwreck.
We continue our walk south until we get to Spere's Mill Mouth and head down to the bottom of the waterfall.
Exploring the rock pools.
There is just enough time left to have a look at Hartland Point before heading back to the hotel.
During the early hours of 31st December 1982 the Johanna grounded under Hartland Point Lighthouse. All 7 of the crew were safely landed by helicopter and lifeboat. You can still see the shipwreck from the top of the cliff.
